Hotels on Mallorca
The most common booking mistake on Mallorca is not the wrong hotel but the wrong place. That is why this page starts with the location and only then moves on to searching for deals.
In brief
In which order should you book?
First, decide on the region and place according to your type of holiday; second, choose the type of hotel (family resort, adults only, city hotel, finca, aparthotel); third, check the location within the place – distance to the beach, gradient, noise at night – and only then compare prices.

Frequently asked questions
Where should you stay on Mallorca?
The choice of place matters more than the hotel category: families go to the north around Alcúdia, couples seeking peace and quiet to the south-east, city travellers to Palma, active travellers to the Tramuntana or to Port de Pollença.
What does close to the beach really mean?
Pay attention to the actual walking distance and the climb. In cove resorts such as Cala d'Or, hotels are often above the bay, so the way back involves stairs – a difference that map distances do not show.
Is all-inclusive worthwhile on Mallorca?
Mainly in the north and in large holiday complexes with children, where distances are short and restaurants outside are further away. In Palma, Sóller or Santanyí, on the other hand, the local food and drink scene speaks against it.
