Last minute to Mallorca
Booking at short notice is worthwhile – but only if you are flexible about the place, the dates and the hotel.
Last-minute deals usually apply to short-notice departures within a few weeks.
In brief
When is last minute worthwhile for Mallorca?
Last minute is worthwhile outside the German school holidays if you are flexible about the departure airport, the resort and the hotel. During the summer holidays, short-notice deals for Mallorca are usually more expensive than early-booking prices, because demand uses up the allocations.

How last-minute prices on Mallorca come about
Tour operators buy flight and hotel allocations long in advance. Whatever is left shortly before departure is sold more cheaply – but only if demand is not sufficient anyway. That is exactly why last minute works well on Mallorca in the off-season and hardly at all during the summer holidays.
Large hotels with many rooms are the main ones available at short notice. Small fincas, boutique hotels and smaller adults-only hotels are usually booked up long before.
How to book sensibly at short notice
-
Stay flexible on the departure airport
At short notice, a different departure airport often changes the price more than a different hotel.
-
Keep your travel window wide
Two or three possible departure days instead of one fixed date multiply the number of matches.
-
Fix the region, leave the hotel open
The region decides your holiday. Within a region, you can let the offer decide the hotel.
-
Factor in transfer time
A cheap deal in Cala Ratjada means a drive of around 75 minutes from Palma – on a short trip, that makes a difference.
Off-season beats last minute
If your dates are flexible, a regular booking in May, September or October is usually cheaper than a last-minute deal in August.
