In brief

What is the best way to book Mallorca?

There is no single right way to book. If you want flight, hotel and transfer together and are travelling in high season, a package holiday is usually the better choice – legally, too. If you are planning a finca, a holiday flat or a city break in Palma, book flight and accommodation separately. If you decide at short notice, look at last-minute deals, and for the Tramuntana or the island interior a hire car is needed in almost all cases.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper: a package holiday or booking separately?

In high season and for the classic combination of flight, beach hotel and transfer, a package is usually cheaper and gives you better legal protection. Booking separately is worthwhile for fincas, holiday flats, short trips and outside the season.

When should you book Mallorca?

Early for high season and school holidays, because that is when supply and price diverge most. If you are flexible, you can also find good combinations at short notice in the low season.

Do you also need a hire car?

Not necessarily. In Palma, Alcúdia or Port de Sóller you can manage without one. For the Tramuntana, the island interior and remote coves, a car is practically indispensable.

Are prices shown here?

No. Prices, availability and ratings are held exclusively in the external booking system. This page only explains which type of booking suits which trip.
