Wellness holidays in Mallorca: wellness hotels, spa & relaxation
In Mallorca, a spa holiday works best outside the beach season – quieter, milder and with more space in the spa area.
In short
What makes a wellness holiday in Mallorca?
A wellness holiday in Mallorca is a hotel stay with a spa focus: sauna, steam room, indoor pool and bookable treatments ranging from massage and thalasso to Ayurveda. The appeal lies in the off-season – mild temperatures, empty hiking trails in the Tramuntana and spa areas that aren't busy. Which treatments a hotel actually offers varies greatly; that is why you make your choice using the wellness filters in the booking system.

You can choose these types of wellness specifically
The following categories can be filtered in the booking system – they describe what a hotel specialises in.
-
Wellness
The umbrella category for hotels with a spa: sauna, relaxation rooms, indoor pool and treatments as part of the hotel's offer.
-
Massage
Classic and relaxing massage treatments, usually bookable individually or as part of a treatment package.
-
Ayurveda
Treatments based on Ayurvedic teaching, often in series over several days rather than as single appointments.
-
Thalasso
Treatments based on seawater, algae and sea air – an obvious choice on an island, but not available in every hotel.
-
Spa-cure treatments
Structured treatment programmes over several days, often with medical or therapeutic supervision in the hotel.
-
Steam room & sauna
Basic equipment in the spa area. If this matters to you, check opening times and surcharges in advance.
-
Beauty
Facial and body treatments, cosmetics and care treatments in addition to the spa area.
-
Anti-ageing
Specialised care and treatment programmes, usually listed as a separate package.
-
Acupuncture
An additional offer at some hotels with a therapeutic focus – not standard in holiday hotels.
Decision guide: which wellness holiday suits you?
Four questions that considerably narrow the choice before you compare.
Relaxation or programme? If you want to switch off, you need a good relaxation and sauna area and can freely choose individual massages. If you want an Ayurveda or spa-cure programme, you need a hotel with the relevant specialisation and should plan at least a week.
Peace or close to the beach? Hotels in the island interior and in the Tramuntana are quiet and scenic, but rarely by the water. Wellness with direct beach access is more likely to be found in the north and on the Bay of Palma.
When to travel? In winter, some holiday hotels reduce their spa operations or close completely. Hotels open all year round are mainly in Palma and the island interior.
With or without a flight? As a package holiday, your stay is protected including flight and transfer. If you want flexible dates or are planning a hire car anyway, book the hotel separately.

Spa day in Mallorca: hammam, thermal water and day spa for day guests
Not every wellness moment needs a wellness holiday. Some hotels also let day guests into their spa area, and Palma has a hammam in the Arab style. Especially in autumn and winter, a spa day is a good alternative to the beach.
Spa day in Palma: from a historic bath to the hammam
A day plan without a car. Both stops are in the old town, and you can walk between them.
- Morning
- Banys Àrabs, Carrer de Can Serra 7: remains of a bath from the Islamic period (10th/11th century). You can see the domed room with round openings for light, twelve different columns and a shady garden. A building to look at – there is no bathing here. Visit approx. 30–45 min, tickets at the small counter at the entrance.
- Midday
- A walk through the Sa Calatrava quarter to the cathedral and the Parc de la Mar, lunch in the old town. Better to eat lightly before the hammam.
- Afternoon
- Hammam Al Ándalus Palma, Carrer de Costa i Llobera 20: a bathing complex in the Arab style with warm and cold pools. A session lasts around 90 minutes, tea and water are included, and a massage (15 or 30 min) or a scrub with a kessa glove can be added. Prices on ticket portals in October 2026: approx. €70 to €120 per person, depending on the massage. Bring swimwear; towels are provided. Start times by reservation only.
- Evening
- Evening light over the bay on the Paseo Marítimo, with suitable places on our page Sunset restaurants in Mallorca.
Good for rainy days: both stops are under cover, see also Mallorca in the rain. Age rules apply to the hammam and are stated differently depending on where you book – please check when booking.
Day spa in hotels: where day guests are welcome
According to their own information or booking platforms, these hotels also open their spa area to guests who are not staying overnight. Prices and times change with the season and are usually only given on request.
-
Fontsanta Hotel Thermal Spa · Campos
Thermal pool with hydromassage, contrast pool, Finnish sauna, ice zone and steam room. Day packages combine the thermal circuit with lunch or dinner. Adults only. Close to the natural beach of Es Trenc. Ask about winter opening in advance.
-
Talise Spa at Jumeirah Mallorca · Port de Sóller
Thermal area with pool, sauna and steam room above the bay. Non-hotel guests pay an entrance fee for the thermal area, which is waived if you book a treatment. Seasonal operation: the hotel closes in winter; in 2026 it opened in mid-March.
-
Zoëtry Mallorca · Llucmajor
Spa in a country estate with vaulted ceilings, heated indoor pool, saunas and a eucalyptus steam room. Spa daily 10:00 to 19:00, from age 16. According to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, treatments are also available to day guests; ask about winter opening in advance.
-
The Donna Portals · Portals Nous
Day pass with breakfast and access to the spa and pool area, adults only. Offered from spring to autumn, price on request depending on the option.
Good to know
- Reserve
- Book in advance at all of these places – day places are limited, and treatments even more so.
- What to bring
- Swimwear; hotels usually provide bathrobes and towels.
- Season
- Many hotel spas on the coast close in winter or have shorter opening times. The hammam in Palma does not depend on the beach season – in winter it is the first choice for a spa day.
- Prices
- As of October 2026, without guarantee. Massages and drinks usually cost extra.

Frequently asked questions
When is the best time for a wellness holiday in Mallorca?
In the off-season from November to April. The spa areas are quieter then, the weather is less inviting for the beach anyway, and the island is much emptier. In high summer, wellness is more of an addition to a beach holiday.
Does every hotel with a pool also have a spa area?
No. An outdoor pool is not a wellness facility. What matters is whether there is a sauna, steam room, indoor pool and treatment rooms and whether they are open during your travel period.
Are treatments included in the price?
Usually not. Use of the spa area is mostly included, while massages, beauty and spa-cure treatments are added individually or as a package. Exactly what is included is stated in the relevant offer description in the booking system.
Which regions are suitable for a wellness holiday?
The Serra de Tramuntana and the island interior for peace and scenery, Palma for combining city and spa, the north around Port de Pollença for wellness close to the beach.
Is wellness also worthwhile for a short stay?
For sauna, massage and beauty, yes. Ayurveda and spa-cure programmes, on the other hand, are designed for several consecutive days and hardly make sense in three nights.
Can you have a spa day in Mallorca without an overnight stay?
Yes. The Hammam Al Ándalus in Palma is designed for day visitors, and several hotels such as the Fontsanta near Campos, the Jumeirah in Port de Sóller (in season) or the Zoëtry near Llucmajor let day guests into their spa area. Reserve in advance and check seasonal times.
