Character of the beach
Natural beach in the south with pale sand and shallow, clear water, with no hotel development. Es Trenc is a beach where it pays to arrive early, because in high summer the car parks are full by mid-morning. There is no seafront road, no hotels and only a few simple beach kiosks. If you only arrive at midday, you will queue at the car park and then walk in the full sun, because there is practically no shade. The water shelves very gently and is turquoise because the sand is pale and fine-grained. The northern section near Ses Covetes is the busiest; further south towards the salt pans it gets quieter. Nudism is common on parts of the beach, especially in the southern section towards the salt pans.

Frequently asked questions about Platja d'Es Trenc
Where do you park at Es Trenc?
There are three paid access points: at Ses Covetes in the north, the central Es Trenc car park and the access road from Ses Salines in the south. From there it is a five- to fifteen-minute walk, depending on the car park. In July and August the spaces are taken by mid-morning.
Is Es Trenc suitable for families?
The water shelves very gently, which is good for children. The lack of shade and the walk from the car park are the drawbacks – without a sunshade and a supply of water, a whole day with small children is hard going.
Can you get to Es Trenc without a car?
In the summer season, buses run between Colònia de Sant Jordi, Ses Salines and the beach area; the timetables change every year. Alternatively, the Es Carbó section of the beach can be reached on foot from Colònia de Sant Jordi.
Are there restaurants at Es Trenc?
On the beach itself there are only a few simple kiosks; the choice is much smaller than at hotel beaches. There is a wider choice in Ses Covetes, Sa Ràpita and Colònia de Sant Jordi.
Are dogs allowed? Is there nudism?
Dogs: no. Nudism is common on parts of the beach, especially in the southern section towards the salt pans.
Is there shade?
Shade: none.
