Magaluf

Magaluf is a seaside resort in south-west Mallorca with a long, wide sandy beach, a water park and the densest party and club scene on the island – with a transfer time of only around 30 minutes from the airport.

Nightlife Budget Beach holidays Without a hire car

The beach is much wider than the nightlife would suggest.

Magaluf has two faces: by day a very wide, gently shelving beach with family activities and water sports, by night the Punta Ballena with clubs and bars. The two are close together, but you can keep them apart when choosing your hotel. The municipality has regulated the nightlife more strictly in recent years, and the resort is now less clearly a party destination than its reputation suggests.

Frequently asked questions about Magaluf

Is Magaluf just a party resort?

No. The beach is wide, shallow and well equipped, and the resort is much quieter in the low season. What matters is how far your hotel is from the Punta Ballena.

Is Magaluf suitable for families?

To a limited extent. The beach, water park and bus connections speak in its favour, the nightlife in the centre against it. Families usually choose the northern stretch of beach towards Palmanova.

Can you manage without a hire car?

Yes. The beach, restaurants and clubs are within walking distance, and Palma and the neighbouring resorts can be reached by bus.

How far is it from the airport?
