Artà
Artà is a historic country town in north-east Mallorca, overlooked by the Santuari de Sant Salvador. The town has kept its original character and is regarded as a stronghold of artists and craftspeople.
Culture & town Nature Peace and quiet Hiking
From the fortress hill, the view stretches over the rooftops to the plain.
Artà lies a few kilometres inland between the Parc Natural de Llevant and the Bay of Alcúdia. There are no large hotel buildings; instead, sandstone houses, galleries, the Tuesday market and the steps up to the pilgrimage church shape the town. The municipality's natural beaches – such as Cala Torta – are only easy to reach by car.
