All-inclusive hotels in Mallorca
Sensible where distances are long – unnecessary where the restaurants are right on your doorstep.
All-inclusive pays off above all where restaurants outside the hotel are further away.
The short answer
Is all-inclusive worth it in Mallorca?
All-inclusive pays off above all in large resorts in the north and east, where restaurants outside are further away, and for families with several children and a fixed budget. In Palma, Sóller, Santanyí or Port de Pollença, half board is usually the better choice, because the local food scene is part of the holiday.

What is included in practice – and what isn't
All-inclusive is not a protected term. The standard covers three buffet meals, local alcoholic and soft drinks at set times, and usually coffee and cake in the afternoon. Anything beyond that is charged extra.
Items that often remain chargeable are branded spirits, cocktails outside the standard menu, freshly squeezed juices, bottled water for excursions, the minibar and à la carte restaurants that can only be used once or twice per stay at no extra charge.
When all-inclusive adds up
-
Large resorts away from the town centres
In Playa de Muro, Sa Coma or Cala Millor, many hotels are on main roads leading out of town. Every restaurant visit there means a walk or a taxi.
-
Families with several children
Feeding four people three times a day in Mallorca quickly costs more than the surcharge for full board.
-
Predictable budget
If you want to fix your holiday costs in advance, all-inclusive gives you the least variation.
When half board is the better choice
-
Palma and old-town locations
In the city, the hotel buffet competes with market halls, tapas bars and restaurants – the surcharge usually goes unused.
-
Sóller, Santanyí, Deià
These places thrive on their own cuisine. If you eat at the hotel in the evening, you miss the essential part of your stay.
-
Touring and walking holidays
If you are out and about during the day, you rarely make it back in time for the lunch buffet.
