Serra de Tramuntana (Northwest)
Deià
Deià is an artists' village on the steep coast of the Serra de Tramuntana, a retreat for writers and painters since the 1920s – with natural stone houses, Cala Deià and exceptionally good food.
Couples Luxury Hiking Culture & city Nature
The village is stepped in terraces around the church hill.
Deià lies between Valldemossa and Sóller on the Ma-10 coast road. The village is small, expensive and spectacularly located: terraced fields, olive groves and, below them, the pebble and rock cove of Cala Deià. Hikers walk the GR 221; in the evening, a density of restaurants unique for a village of this size sets the tone. The restaurant Béns d'Avall has been closed since March 2026; a reopening with à la carte dining has been announced for 2027.
