Calvari steps in the old town of Pollença in Mallorca with cypresses, natural stone houses and a chapel at the top

Pollença

Pollença is the cultural centre of northern Mallorca: an old town built of natural stone with the 365-step Calvary staircase, a Sunday market and a music festival – the harbour town of Port de Pollença lies six kilometres away by the sea.

Culture & city Couples Hiking Nature

365 steps lead from the town centre up to the chapel.

Pollença lies inland at the foot of the Tramuntana and should be clearly distinguished from Port de Pollença: here the old town, market, culture and fincas; there the bay, promenade and beach hotels. If you stay in Pollença, you need a car or the bus for the beach – but in return you get the more authentic town.
