Island centre Es Pla (Sineu, Petra, Santa Maria)
Inca
Inca is one of Mallorca's largest towns and the centre of the Es Raiguer region. The town is known for its leather craft, the traditional cellers (cellar restaurants) and the large Thursday market – a place for shopping and eating, not a beach resort.
Culture & town Peace and quiet Nature
Inca is a market and leather town – its heart lives from the square, not the sea.
Inca lies inland at the foot of the Tramuntana and functions as an everyday town, not a holiday resort. People come here for the Thursday market, the leather industry's factory outlets and the cellers – former wine cellars that now serve classic Mallorcan home cooking. For holidaymakers, Inca is mainly a day-trip destination and a base for finca stays in the surrounding countryside.

Dijous Bo is regarded as the island's biggest public festival and turns the entire town centre into a market.

Accommodation
Where to stay in Inca?
In Inca itself, small town hotels dominate; the real choice is in the surrounding countryside: agroturismos (farm stays) and fincas between Palma and the north. Fincas are very important here, whereas Inca is not a hotel resort in its own right.

Getting around
Within the town everything is walkable, and the train connects Inca directly with Palma. For fincas in the surrounding area and trips into the Tramuntana, a car makes sense.
Bus connections: Inca is on the Palma–Sa Pobla/Manacor railway line; trains run regularly from Palma Intermodal station. From the airport you need to change in Palma.
