Terraced fields of Banyalbufar on the west coast

Serra de Tramuntana (Northwest)

Banyalbufar

Banyalbufar is a coastal village in the south-western Tramuntana, known for its terraced slopes above the sea and its revived Malvasía winegrowing.

Nature Couples Peace and quiet Hiking

The terraces were built for growing vines and vegetables.

Banyalbufar lies on the Ma-10 coast road between Estellencs and Esporles. The terraced fields – the marjades – stretch from the village down to the sea and form a centuries-old irrigation system. You swim at a small pebble cove and hike on the Camí des Correu to Esporles. The sunset at the Torre del Verger is one of the best-known destinations on the west coast.
