East (Cala d'Or, Cala Millor, Canyamel)
Manacor
Manacor is Mallorca's second-largest town and the economic centre of the east – known for the Majorica pearl factory, furniture-making and as Rafael Nadal's home town.
Culture & town Active holidays Peace and quiet
Manacor is the largest town in the east of the island.
Manacor is a working and craft town, not a holiday resort: the municipality's coastal resorts – Porto Cristo, s'Illot, Cales de Mallorca – are a few kilometres away. In the town itself it is all about pearls, furniture, market day and sport. The railway station connects Manacor directly with Palma, and the car-free Via Verda leads towards Artà.
