Where is Mallorca at its quietest?

Last checked: October 2026

Not just ‘no partying’, but real relaxation: small places, nature, a finca feel and the right time to travel.

Es Pla only works as a base with a hire car, but it is very quiet.

In short

Which places in Mallorca are the quietest?

The quietest are the centre of the island with its fincas and country towns, the mountain villages of the Serra de Tramuntana such as Valldemossa and Deià, and small coastal places such as Port d'Andratx and Colònia de Sant Jordi. Besides the place, the time of year is decisive: from November to March most places are quiet, but many hotels on the coast are closed then; Easter and May are already busy.

Quiet coves instead of the main beach

Smaller coves are most relaxed in the morning and outside the high season.

Peace depends on three factors

  • Size of the place

A place with a few thousand beds stays manageable even in August. Places with long rows of large hotels, on the other hand, tip over from July.

  • Time of year

Between November and March even well-known places are quiet; in May and October it is noticeably busier, but much quieter than in high summer – a good compromise. If you are looking for peace, you gain more from the season than from the place.

  • Location within the place

Even busy places have quiet edges – such as the upper part of Peguera or the old town of Alcúdia away from the beachfront.

Quiet resort or truly remote?

This page answers the question of maximum peace: the centre of the island, mountain villages, small places, quiet coves and the off-season. This almost always comes with a certain seclusion – longer distances, fewer restaurants, often a hire car as a prerequisite.

Looking for a quiet resort by the sea with restaurants and infrastructure within walking distance? Then the comparison of quiet resorts is the better place to start.

Which kind of peace suits whom

  • Couples

Port d'Andratx, the area around Deià and fincas in the centre of the island: short distances to good restaurants, no entertainment programme.

  • Older travellers

Port de Pollença and Sóller combine peace with level paths, doctors, pharmacies and bus connections.

  • Families looking for peace

Colònia de Sant Jordi offers shallow water and a manageable size – without the rows of hotels of the large bays.

  • Off-season travellers

From late January to February the almond blossom is the draw, in spring hiking and city breaks are a good fit, but many beach hotels in the north are closed then.

Peace has a price

Very quiet places have fewer restaurants, a shorter season and often no bus service in the evening. If you want to go out to eat spontaneously in the evening, choose a medium-sized place.
