Restaurants in Pollença and Port de Pollença
Two places, two evenings: arcades and cellers in the old town, fish and sea views down at the harbour.
The arcades of the Plaça Major are the heart of the old-town dining scene in Pollença.
In short
Restaurants in Pollença and Port de Pollença
In culinary terms, Pollença and Port de Pollença are two different places. In Pollença’s old town you eat Mediterranean-Mallorcan food among arcades and lanes, at addresses such as Q11, La Fonda, Cantonet and the Celler El Molí. In Port de Pollença the focus is on fish, sea views and the promenade – for example La Llonja at the fishing harbour, Stay on the jetty, Los Faroles on the promenade and the terrace of the Illa d'Or.
The six kilometres between Pollença and the harbour determine the character of the evening. Up in the town it is quieter, more Mallorcan and livelier all year round, because local people eat out there too. Down by the water the season is more pronounced: between November and March some of the promenade restaurants close.
You should book in both places – in the old town because there are few tables, at the harbour because of the front-row seats. In the weeks around the Festa de la Patrona in early August, the restaurants on the Plaça Major are effectively fully booked.
In terms of price, a main course in the old town usually costs between 20 and 30 euros, considerably less in the celler with a menú del día (set lunch menu). Fish by weight at the harbour can cost more – ask for the price per kilo before ordering.

Practical tips
- Without a car: a bus runs regularly between Pollença and the harbour, but services become less frequent in the evening.
- On market day (Sunday) the old town is packed at lunchtime – it gets quieter in the evening.
- Fish at the harbour is often charged by weight; ask for the price per kilo beforehand.
- In winter, phone ahead: some of the harbour restaurants close for a break.
- For a quiet evening, choose the northern end of the bay towards the Pine Walk (Passeig Vora Mar).
