The course
Landscape and character
Vall d'Or has two landscapes: undulating woodland holes on the front nine, wider holes towards the coast on the back nine.
The front nine run through pine, almond and olive trees. The back nine – the original holes from 1986 – are wider and slope down towards the coast. Elevated tees and greens and several doglegs shape play; there are two lakes by the green on hole 8.
The course opened in 1986 with nine holes, and today's holes 1 to 9 were added in 1991–1993. The club later completely redesigned hole 16, with new tees and a new green; the lengths on the 2008 scorecard may therefore differ for this hole.
