The course

Landscape and character

Son Servera combines wide fairways with five narrow woodland holes.

The course lies at the foot of the mountains in a pine-forested valley on the Costa de los Pinos. Oaks, pines, olive trees, carob trees and palms line the holes. Holes 3 to 7, “The Pine Trap”, are cut through the original pine forest. Water is in play on six holes and the greens are undulating; you look out over the mountains and the pine valley.

Construction of the first nine holes, to plans by John Harris, began in 1963. The club was founded in 1965 as “Club de Golf Punta Rotja”, and the course opened in 1967 with an international open – according to the club's history, as Mallorca's second golf course. In 2001 a storm devastated the pine forest on the grounds. In 2012 the members extended the course to 18 holes.

Nuria Iturrioz, among others, came through the club's junior golf school.
