Sculpture Parks in Mallorca: Art in the Open Air
Mallorca has no endless sculpture trails, but two places where art stands among pine trees and stone walls instead of against white museum walls.
In brief
Sculpture Parks in Mallorca: Art in the Open Air
Mallorca has two sculpture parks worth mentioning: Stefan Rinck's permanent Sculpture Garden at CCA Andratx and the sculpture park of the Museu Sa Bassa Blanca near Alcúdia with international artists. The gardens themselves are outdoors and not very suitable in the rain; the indoor spaces of both venues are worthwhile even during showers.
CCA Andratx Sculpture Garden
Stefan Rinck's Sculpture Garden has been part of CCA Andratx as a permanent installation since December 2024. The stone sculptures stand permanently in the art centre's outdoor grounds, independently of the changing indoor exhibitions.
Museu Sa Bassa Blanca
The sculpture park near Alcúdia shows works by artists including Antony Gormley, Barry Flanagan and Erwin Wurm, set within the earthen architecture designed by Hassan Fathy.
