Note on the date

Location: Parc de la Mar (Parc de Nadal), Plaça Major, Ramblas, Ses Estacions.

What you’ll find there

The markets in Palma are smaller than Central European Christmas markets and focus more on crafts, nativity figures and regional sweets. Instead of mulled wine, hot chocolate, almond biscuits and turrón (nougat) dominate.

The real appeal lies in the combination: illuminated old-town lanes, mild temperatures and a city that belongs to the locals in December.

Where in Palma

New in 2026 is the Parc de Nadal in the Parc de la Mar below the cathedral: 60 wooden huts with priority for crafts and products from Mallorca, a real ice rink, food areas and a treasure hunt for families. The classic markets on Plaça Major, on the Ramblas and at Ses Estacions remain. Everything is within walking distance of each other. The city publishes the opening times of the individual markets in November.

Christmas on Mallorca

For children, the most important date is 6 January: that is when the Three Kings bring the presents. The evening before, on 5 January, they arrive at the Moll Vell in Palma’s old harbour and parade through the city.

December on Mallorca means mild but not warm: often around 15 degrees during the day, noticeably cooler in the evening. Swimming is the exception; hiking and sightseeing work well.

Tips for your visit

  • Visit on a weekday afternoon – at weekends the old town is packed.
  • Combine it with sightseeing: the cathedral and old town are free of the summer crowds.
  • Pack a warm jacket for the evening.

Who is it worthwhile for?

A good fit for:

  • Families and couples
  • City-break travellers in winter
  • Anyone who wants to get to know Mallorca outside the peak season

Less suitable for:

  • Anyone expecting classic mulled-wine Christmas markets
  • Beach holidaymakers
