The course opened in 1991 and measures 5,706 m from yellow and 6,053 m from white (par 72). The holes run through pine forest and between large lakes; according to the scorecard, the lakes come into play on hole 12 and on holes 14 to 18. The club highlights the many ways to play the course.
The final hole is a par 3 whose green sits on an area of land shaped like the island of Mallorca. In 1995 Santa Ponsa II was the venue of the European Tour's Balearic Open (winner G. Turner). The International H.R.H. Juan de Borbón was held here from 1994 to 2012, and the International H.R.H. Princesa Birgitta of Sweden from 1991 to 2012.
