Vegan and vegetarian food in Mallorca
Easy in Palma; in the countryside it is a matter of ordering the right thing.
The vegan scene is concentrated in Palma and the larger coastal resorts.
Quick answer
Vegan and vegetarian food in Mallorca
Purely plant-based restaurants are found mainly in Palma, concentrated in the old town and in Santa Catalina. In the countryside, tumbet, trempó, pa amb oli without cold cuts and grilled vegetables are the reliable vegetarian options.
Traditional island cooking relies heavily on pork; sobrassada also turns up in dishes where you would not expect it.
In Palma, by contrast, the vegan scene is dense enough for full menus including desserts.

Practical tips
- Ask for “sense carn i sense peix” (without meat and without fish) – stock is often meat-based.
- Tumbet is the safest traditional main course without meat.
- Ensaimada is not vegan: it contains pork lard.
